FAQ
Questions, Answered
Can you help with a flight I booked myself?
Since the airline holds that reservation, they're the only ones who can see it or make changes, so they're your fastest help for baggage, seats, check-in, and schedule changes. When you book flights with me through the Fora flight desk, you get a 24/7 support line for exactly these moments.
What are your hours?
I'm available Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 6 pm Central, and I reply to every message within 1 to 2 business days. Before you travel, you'll get every emergency contact you need for your trip.
How long does planning take?
Your first Signature Journey proposal arrives within 10 business days, and each round of changes takes 3 to 5 business days. Points searches take 3 to 5 business days, room blocks 7 to 10, and charter quotes 5 to 7. The clock starts once your agreement is signed, your card is on file, your fee is paid, and your form is complete.
Can you plan a trip on short notice?
Yes, when my schedule allows. Rush service gets you a proposal within 3 business days for an additional 50% of the planning fee ($100 minimum). Trips departing within 30 days are considered rush requests, and points searches within 14 days of departure.
Why do you charge a planning fee?
Most of my income comes from supplier commissions, which usually arrive after you've traveled, and only if the trip happens. Commissions also don't reflect the hours that go into a trip. A multi-country itinerary or a trip with lots of moving pieces can take dozens of hours, while the commission stays the same. The planning fee pays for the research and design work I do now, regardless of how the trip turns out. It's separate from your travel costs and isn't credited toward them.
Will booking with you cost more than booking direct?
No. You pay the same rate you'd find online, and booking with me adds perks like daily breakfast, hotel credits, and upgrades when available. My commission comes from the supplier, not from you.
Why do you need a card on file?
It's how I hold your spot and get started. Your card is only used for my agreed fees and is never charged for any travel booking without your approval.
How many changes can I make to my proposal?
Your planning fee includes up to 3 rounds of changes. I'll always share my top pick and one alternative, so you're choosing between great options instead of sorting through dozens.
How does a points search work?
Each search compares up to 3 locations, so I can go deep on the places you're most excited about. Searches are $150 per person for round trips within North America and the Caribbean, and $200 per person for international, business or first class, or multi-city trips. You book the award in your own loyalty account.
What if award seats disappear before I book?
Award space is controlled by the airlines and changes constantly, so I can't guarantee it will still be there when you book. That's why I recommend booking quickly once you have your results. The search fee covers my research time, so it isn't refundable if space disappears.
Can I book a hotel myself and still get your perks?
Yes! Use my client portal and my VIP perks are attached automatically. Or send me the hotel and dates and I'll book it through my VIP Desk at no cost to you.
Do I need travel insurance?
I strongly recommend it for every trip. Without it, you're responsible for costs from cancellations, delays, medical emergencies, and lost baggage. I'll share options when we book.
